Spitalfields, London

Lollipop, London’s first plant-based café, approached FormRoom to help design an energetic environment with a pop culture edge. With the location already established in East London, the brand wanted to make sure their café would stand out from the ever-growing vegan food scene.

The health and fitness industry show no signs of stopping as it continues to gain popularity amongst local businesses and office workers. Lollipop wanted to ensure they had a part in London’s health and wellness by adding their own trademark concept to the scene.

As the café focuses on offering their customers fresh and high energy food, FormRoom wanted this energy reflected in the interior by embracing a vibrant colour palette and bold monochrome patterns. In order to give the scheme a rock ‘n’ roll edge, textures such as distressed corrugated metal clad the front counter, while tolix industrial tools line the tables in striking, unapologetic fushcia tones.

With 80% of the menu containing fruit, the team wanted to introduce playful design details with a fun twist including a yellow banana chandelier and pink neon signage with a tongue-in-cheek phrase.

The interiors embrace a vibrant colour palette and bold monochrome patterns.

We looked to design an energetic space with a sense of playful surrealism and pop culture edge.
